At Cremalosa, Meridith Ford brings a special touch to age-old Italian methods, creating sweet frozen treats of powerful American flavors inspired by the southern cakes, cookies, and candy bars she grew up with.

Meridith is the mom behind Cremalosa. She started out as a pastry chef, became a food writer, and then went back to being a chef (who occasionally writes). As a single parent, she always had to work, and it wasn’t always easy. She’s had a lot of help from friends and family. See that little heart in the Cremalosa logo? That was inspired by one of her daughter’s childhood doodles, and it’s here to remind her every day that hard work pays off. Cremalosa is the culmination of a lot of dreaming and even more elbow grease, but mostly a lot of love.

That’s why Meridith wants Cremalosa to be a place of community, where families and friends gather to gab, eat gelato, relax with a glass of wine, and have fun. A place where smiles are part of the décor, everyone is respected and treated fairly and lots of laughing takes place. So grab the pooch, your kids, your main squeeze, the in-laws - heck, bring the whole family! Who isn’t happy when they’re eating gelato? Let’s scoop up some smiles together! Trust us, our hearts are in the right place.
