 Welcome to Cremalosa: handmade, artisanal gelato, spun in small batches every day, with the expertise of Italian technique from Owner-Operator and local food writer Meridith Ford. At Cremalosa, she brings a special touch to age-old Italian methods, creating sweet frozen treats of powerful American flavors inspired by the Southern cakes, cookies and candy bars she grew up with. Grab the pooch, your kids, your main squeeze, the in-laws - heck, bring the whole family! Cremalosa is located on the plaza level of Cortland Decatur East, a new mixed-use development on East College Avenue in Decatur where you can walk, bike (the Stone Mountain Bike Path is in our front yard!) or park and grab a scoop to go, or linger inside to get a glimpse of Cremalosa’s beautiful gelato case filled with 12 happy flavors, plus gelato cakes, pops, boozy shakes and “adult” affogato. We’ve got select Italian wines and beer, too. Our bright little space welcomes with gleaming walls, cafe seating and handcrafted fixtures, but the decor is mostly you and the smile on your face - who isn’t happy when they’re eating gelato? Let’s scoop up some smiles together! Trust us, our hearts are in the right place.
